Working with and for America's Veterans is a privilege. The VHA Interim Staffing Program’s Locum Tenens Program (LTP) branch is an internal pool of highly-trained physicians, nurse-practitioners, physician assistants, psychologists, and other health care providers who provide temporary staffing assistance to VA health care facilities to support Veterans’ health care need throughout the agency.

To prepare for VHA service, newly-hired ISP-LTP providers undergo orientation and training on VHA ICARE principles, on agency policy, on team-based and special-care processes, and on clinical informatics. When on assignment, ISP-LTP providers are paid for the time they work. ISP providers’ travel, lodging, meals and incidental expenses may be covered as allowed by government travel regulations.
