Consistent with professional society guidelines as well as an active directive, the CART Program currently collects information for all invasive cardiac procedures performed by cardiologists within the VA Healthcare System. The mission of the CART Program is simple:
• To monitor and enhance the quality and safety of invasive cardiac procedures for Veterans through clinical analytic and information technology The CART Program accomplishes this mission statement through three foci – quality, safety and reporting – which can be further explored from the links above.

Flexible: Predictive Analytics The CART Application Suite has been updated to incorporate predictive analytic models, allowing providers to automatically calculate procedural risk at the point of care while completing required clinical documentation. |
Responsive: COVID-19 Due to its significant flexibility, the CART Application Suite was immediately updated to gather data regarding COVID-19 testing for all patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures at the outset of the pandemic. |
