Resource: SSVF Compliance Financial Closeout and Administrative Costs Webinar
The SSVF Program Office has released a webinar to assist grantees in understanding financial closeout requirements and administrative costs compliance. The webinar includes a brief review of the FFR (Federal Financial Review) FSR (Financial Status Report) completion process, including the timeline for submission and how to access the reports on the PMS website. The webinar also includes an “Ask the Auditor” segment in which SSVF Program Office Compliance staff and VA auditors review the rules, regulations, and standards for administrative costs and provide examples on how to approach administrative costs for the SSVF grant. The webinar can be accessed at:

For additional questions related to FFR FSR (Financial Status Report) submission requirements, please contact Robert Thompson at: robert.thompson2@va.gov.

Resource: Information on Registering to Vote at USA.gov
The SSVF Program Office would like to share a resource that SSVF providers may utilize to assist Veterans in registering to vote. Registration deadlines for November elections are approaching in many states and USA.gov is a helpful website with voter resources, including basic steps on how to vote, a guide for new voters, and information on where and how to register. https://www.usa.gov/register-to-vote
Resource: Preventing Suicide among Older Veterans (New Brochure)
The SSVF Program Office reminds grantees that suicide prevention continues to be among one of the highest priorities for the VA. Veterans in crisis can access support from The Veterans Crisis Line at 1-800-273-8255, even if they are not registered or enrolled in VA healthcare. As part of our ongoing effort to share suicide prevention information, we encourage SSVF providers to review and distribute this new brochure, Preventing Suicide among Older Veterans: Resource and tips for Veterans, family members, caregivers, and friends. The brochure contains resources and tips, such as how to improve home safety, find support and care, and recognize the warning signs of suicide. The brochure is available at: https://www.mentalhealth.va.gov/suicide_prevention/docs/Older_Veterans_Brochure_508_FINAL.pdf
