ACTION NEEDED:  SmartSimple Grant Contact Review & Updates

In order for Grantees to receive communications from the SSVF Program Office, contacts will need to be added to at least the FY2021 approved grant award in SmartSimple.  Please take time to review the pre-recorded webinar titled: “SmartSimple Grants Management System: Adding Contacts to Grant Awards” which explains how to add contacts to your current grant awards.

Note:  Contacts are added in the Grant file NOT the Organization file.  Grant account owners will need to first add themselves as a Grant Contact and then may send invitations to others, with designated roles.   If you have any questions, please contact your Regional Coordinator.

Access to the webinar:“SmartSimple Grants Management System: Adding Contacts to Grant Awards” is found here: https://youtu.be/oeCt3TuABgY.

RESOURCE: SSVF Grantee Opportunities for Learning Through the Learning Management Site (LMS) - Housing Skills Practice Center (HSPC)

The Housing Skills Practice Center (HSPC) now offers self-paced and interactive education on New Staff and Health Care Navigator Training modules along with updated Rapid Rehousing Direct Service training.  The SSVF Program Office strongly encourages all Program Managers and staff to become familiar with the LMS system, as there will be continued expansion of educational opportunities for SSVF Grantee Staff at all levels.  Each Grantee has been assigned a Grantee Learning Manager (GLM). If there are Grantee staff who are interested in accessing the HSPC, they should first ask internally about who their GLM is, and that person should be able to create an account for them if they have space available.

Questions about the LMS system should be directed to: housingpractice@tacinc.org and include their grant number.

Grantees may access the LMS Website using the following link: https://learning.tacinc.org/

GOOD NEWS:  “Getting a Veteran Back on His Feet”

The SSVF Program Office is pleased to highlight the following success story from SSVF Grantee, The Opportunity House, in Reading, Pennsylvania.

“I’d be on the street if it weren’t for her taking action.” Those are the words of this Vietnam-era Army Veteran, Ronald H. sharing his thoughts about the services he received through the SSVF program.

When Ronald experienced difficult times, he was referred to SSVF.  Schuylkill County case manager, Victoria Spitler responded quickly to help Mr. H. “She got things done,” he noted.  Ms. Spitler was able to quickly assist the Veteran in obtaining permanent housing.  From helping to obtain housing to completing forms necessary to enroll and access to the Lebanon VA Medical Center, Victoria addressed his needs. “Other organizations promise to help--she actually helped me,” he added.  “She helped me get back on my feet again,” he added.  Ronald encourages Veterans to seek help early.  His experience with SSVF in Schuylkill County has made a big difference in his life.  “You’ll get the help you need and they’ll get things done.”  Thank you, Opportunity House, for the work you are doing to serve our Nation’s Veterans.
