NEW:  HUD Income Guidelines Released

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has released 2018 eligibility income limits.   These income limits are effective beginning April 1, 2018 and can be found here: https://www.huduser.gov/portal/datasets/il.html

RESOURCE: Webinar on Assisting Veterans with Financial Management and Fiduciary Services

A recorded webinar described techniques and resources available for assisting Veterans who are having difficulty managing their money.  Financial management is an important topic for SSVF providers to discuss with the Veterans since lack of these skills can result in denial or loss of housing. Grantees are strongly encouraged to have the capacity to link households to assistance, such as automatic rental payments, and/or third party payees when households have a history of poor money management and are interested in such services.  The SSVF program office encourages grantees to review the recorded webinar using the link here:

Title:   Overview of AmeriCorps Services

Did you know that AmeriCorps VISTA can help you build the capacity of your organization through fundraising, volunteer recruitment, and more?  Each year, over 8,000 AmeriCorps VISTA members spend a year serving at non-profit organizations to help fight poverty.  Helping Veterans and military families overcome poverty is top priority for the VISTA program; if you don’t know about this opportunity you’re missing out.

In the next SSVF Webinar grantees will learn more about the AmeriCorps VISTA program, how to partner with them and opportunities available.

This webinar will be recorded, please register even if you are not able to attend at the scheduled time here:   https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/7278841031818231554

REMINDER:  Quarterly Certification Due April 20th

The Quarterly Certification submission will cover grantee information for the second quarter 01/01/2018- 03/31/2018.  The upcoming quarterly submission will allow grantees to report on progress and compliance with SSVF program requirements including, data quality, participant satisfaction surveys, households screened but not enrolled, participation in trainings/webinars, and quarterly expenditure/HHS drawdowns.  Grantees will also certify overall compliance with the Final Rule and SSVF Grant Agreement as part of the quarterly report certification.  Quarterly reports must be submitted in GIFTS by April 20th, 2018.
