certification covers multiple SSVF program requirements, including Compliance
with the Final Rule, Grant Agreement, Data Quality, Participant Satisfaction

in their Quarterly Certifications under the Rapid Resolution Conversations and

Announcement: SSVF
Rapid Resolution Training
The SSVF Program
Office will soon release a document intended to help SSVF Grantees identify
critical training needs for successful Rapid Resolution interventions. This
will include a basic self-assessment of training needs as well as a standard
form for requesting to use SSVF grant dollars to pay for local Rapid Resolution
training partners. Further, the Program Office intends to provide a series of
Rapid Resolution direct practice trainings in the fall and winter of 2019 to
grantees who fall below certain grant size threshold and who may not otherwise
have the capacity to hire or secure outside training support. Grantees are
strongly encouraged to wait until this guidance is released before hiring any
new training entities for your organization or community. The Program Office
will also release a standard Training Request form that will be submitted
through GIFTS for approval prior to spending additional SSVF grant resources on
outside trainers. Grantees will be notified soon as to whether they have been
selected to attend once of the VA-sponsored Rapid Resolution direct practice
trainings later this year.

Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program (HVRP) Participant Eligibility:
Connecting More Veterans to Employment
In the fall of
2018, Congress passed two (2) pieces of legislation that significantly impact
HVRP by expanding the definitions for program eligibility. The new
definitions broaden the window of eligibility allowing HVRP to serve Veterans
who were previously ineligible. The purpose of this webinar is to inform
partners from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) about these changes and
how they can connect to HVRP to improve employment outcomes. This webinar
will discuss how the changing landscape in homeless Veteran services impacted
HVRP, leading to this important change. The new eligibility definitions
will be explained in detail using individual scenarios as examples.
The webinar will
be led by the U.S. Department of Labor-Veterans Employment & Training
Services (DOL-VETS) and the National Veterans Technical Assistance Center
(NVTAC), in partnership with the United States Interagency Council on
Homelessness (USICH) and the VHA Homeless Programs Office.
