SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:
NOFA Published in Federal Register: Submission Due Date: July 22, 2022, by
4:00pm EST
VA has published a
Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) in the Federal Register creating a
non-recurring, 4-year grant opportunity. Funding is open to existing Grantees
serving VAMC areas listed in Table 1 of the NOFA. It will allow Grantees to
support a range of new activities designed to address barriers to permanent
housing placement. Grantees accepting this funding will now offer:
§ Housing
Navigation support for HUD-VASH
§ Landlord
incentives worth up to 2-months of rent for leases of at least 1-year
§ Tenant
move-in support worth up to $1000 (this is in addition to GHSA) for leases of
at least 1-year
§ Expanded
eligibility, raising the income threshold for SSVF enrollment to 80% of AMI.
To access the NOFA and
required submission materials to include the budget template, please visit the
website: www.va.gov/homeless/ssvf. Eligible
Grantees may start a draft in the UPDaaS
activity to view questions and details needed to complete the Letter of Intent.
The budget template and Letter of Intent must be submitted in UDPaas
by:
July 22, 2022, by
4:00pm EST

Questions and Reponses
The SSVF NOFA was
released June 2022 and will provide new authorities to select high priority
communities to address housing barriers, to supplement funding to support new
authorities and to allow for the leveraging of existing awards to support
objectives.

Office Hours Permanent Housing Placement (PHP) National Challenge to House
38,000 Veterans: 2nd and 4th Fridays of the Month
The next PHP National
Challenge to House 38,000 Veterans Office Hours call will be on Friday July 8,
2022, at 3pm EST/12pm PT. This call will focus on centering equity in housing
surges and will also provide you with an opportunity to receive answers to your
questions on the 38,000 goal.
As this call series is
intended to provide broad technical assistance and support that integrates all
VA and community-partner programs and services towards accomplishing the goal,
SSVF Grantees are strongly encouraged to participate.
These calls will be
held on the 2nd
and 4th
Fridays of the Month at 3pm EST/12pm PT. This goal will be a major focus of
homeless program operations for the remainder of CY 2022.

Office Hours July 15, 2022, at 12pm EST
The SSVF Program Office
will host monthly SSVF Data Office Hours for SSVF Grantees and their community
partners every 3rd
Friday of the month at 12pm EST restarting in July. The Office Hours are
an opportunity to discuss the 38,000 goal and SSVF, to do a “deep dive” into
local data to better understand how to address known data quality issues, and
to ask data-related questions of the SSVF Program Office and TA staff.
