UPDATE: SSVF Data Guidance Update for VAMC Station Code HMIS Data Entries, Effective June 17, 2022
V6 VAMC Station Number:
SSVF Grantees will enter the VA Medical Center (VAMC) Station Number associated with the CoC where the Veteran is being enrolled for services, within the local HMIS system. In situations where SSVF providers are serving more than one VAMC in their catchment area, Grantees should select the VAMC where the Veteran receives majority of their healthcare services. The list of VAMC Station Numbers can be found on the HMIS CSV Specifications document located on the Homelessness Data Exchange.
EXAMPLE:
A Veteran is working with an SSVF Grantee that provides services to VAMC 1 and VAMC 2. The Veteran chooses a permanent housing placement near VAMC 1. The Grantee will determine what CoC the Veteran will be enrolled in and select the VAMC associated with that CoC. If the Veteran is receiving services from both VAMC 1 and VAMC 2, the Grantee will work with a VAMC SSVF POC to determine which VAMC provides majority of the services and select that VAMC’s Station Code for HMIS recording purposes.

NEW RESOURCE: Financial Literacy Community of Practice Opportunity with VA National Center on Homelessness Among Veterans
We understand there is great interest in helping Veterans with financial literacy and managing their money, especially in these times of high inflation. To that end, our partners at the VA National Center on Homelessness among Veterans and their subject matter experts would like to setup a Community of Practice for SSVF Grantees to learn and share practices around helping Veterans with money management. The Community of Practice would be a voluntary virtual group that meets every 2 weeks to share knowledge and learn by interacting regularly, and it will be led by subject matter experts at the National Center on Homelessness among Veterans and Yale University.
Our Community of Practice will cover topics like VA fiduciary services, voluntary rep payee programs, digital tools, supported banking, budgeting, avoiding predatory lending and scams, and financial literacy resources. Additional topics can also be considered upon request.
If you are interested, we welcome you to join us and ask that you send an email to: Jeffrey.Gluff@a.gov. We plan to start our Community of Practice calls in August.
