UPDATE: SSVF Returns to 40% Maximum Expenditure for Prevention TFA

As of July 1, 2022, SSVF will be returning to regular guidance that limits TFA for homeless prevention to a maximum of 40% of TFA spending. This returns SSVF to its primary focus on placing literally homeless Veteran families into permanent housing. This guidance is also consistent with the Secretary’s goal of placing 38,000 homeless Veterans into permanent housing by the end of 2022. It is expected that 4th quarter grantee expenditures will reflect this change in guidance.

**NOTE: Shallow Subsidy grants will be exempt through FY23.

REMINDER: SQUARES Mangers Updates Needed: Due May 6, 2022

VHA’s SQUARES Business Owner is requesting all SSVF Grantees have updated SQUARES Managers and Back-up Managers designated in the “Manager’s Portal”. Over the last year, there have been numerous staff changes with Grantees. If Grantees do not have Managers and Back-up Managers listed in the system, there could be delays to registering staff.  More information will be shared on the SSVF National Webinar: SSVF Customer Satisfaction Survey & SQUARES Updates May 12, 2022: 2pm. In the interim, the SSVF Program Office requests all Grantees ensure appropriate designations have been verified and/or added by close of business May 6, 2022.

If you have any questions or require assistance, please contact: SQUARESAdmin@va.gov

REGISTER: SSVF National Webinar - SSVF Customer Satisfaction Survey & SQUARES Updates May 12, 2022: 2pm EST

The SSVF Program Office will share updates and outcomes from the 2nd Quarter Veteran Satisfaction Survey. While Grantees were recently provided with 2nd Quarter individualized reports, this webinar will serve as a review of National outcomes thus far. Additionally, Program Office staff will provide recommendations for survey registrations, completion, and integration of feedback to enhance Grantee customer service delivery.

Additionally, VHA’s SQUARES Business Owner will be discussing SQUARES registration and access information.  As a reminder, each SSVF Grantee should have an assigned SQUARES Manager, and users should plan to login at least every 30 days to avoid deactivation for inactivity.
