On Monday, August 28, 2023, the VA released the
SSVF FY24 award announcement. Grantees have been notified and can check the SSVF website for the full listing
of awards for FY24. If you have any questions, please contact your
Regional Coordinator.

REMINDER: Immediate Actions to Place Returned
Veterans on Paths to Housing
As part of its 2023 Homelessness Goals, VA set
a goal to ensure that at least 90% of the Veterans who have returned to
homelessness are rehoused or placed on a pathway to rehousing by December 31,
2023. However, as of July 2023, only 84.7% of Veterans have been rehoused or
placed on a path to rehousing, and VA is not on track to meet this
goal.
As SSVF Rapid Rehousing is one of VAs key
pathways to rehousing, grantees are advised to take the following immediate
actions:

The
SSVF Program Office in collaboration with HMIS TA partners will provide
guidance for SSVF grantees to complete the End of Year closeout process.
Grantees will begin the formal End of Year close out process after 9/30/2023 in
association with FY22 and ARP funding. Additionally, grantees will hear
about recommendations and requirement for the end of year HMIS closeout
process. Grantees should ensure the appropriate staff are notified of
this webinar for attendance.

SSVF Program Office in collaboration with our technical assistance partners
with Abt Associates will provide guidance and recommendations about the SSVF
End of Year HMIS close out. Grantees will also be provided updates about
the upcoming FY2024 HMIS Data Standards changes effective 10/1/2024.
Grantees
should ensure staff who conduct data entry, data quality reviews and repository
uploads are invited.

Office Hours CY 2023 Homelessness Goals: September 7, 2023
The next Calendar Year
(CY) 2023 Homelessness Goals Office Hours call will be on Thursday, September
7, 2023. This call will provide guidance on using One Team Case Conferencing
to get Veterans who have returned to homelessness back on pathways to rehousing.
This call will also feature remarks from special guest Tanya Bradsher,
Chief of Staff for VA.
As this
months call will provide critical guidance necessary to achieve the goals, it
is strongly encouraged that at least one person from your organization attend.
These calls are held at 3:00 p.m.

Monthly Report (July and August reports)
The
UDPaaS grant management system has been undergoing significant system
maintenance over the past week. Due to the issues, the publishing of the
Supplemental Award Monthly Report was delayed. Grantees will notice two
requests for this activity in their My Task portal of the UDPaaS system.
The request for July data will be due Sep 1, 2023. Grantees will also
have the report to include August data which will be due by September 30,
2023. We apologize for the short turn around request for July data.
