VA will award over $400 Million in Grants to Help At Risk Veterans and Family Members

On October 1, 2020, VA will award approximately $400 million in awards to 266 existing grant programs for SSVF, located in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.  The grants will support SSVF services in Fiscal Year (FY) 2021. These awards stemmed from a Notice of Fund Availability (NOFA) published in the Federal Register on December 5, 2019.  Thousands of very low-income Veteran families around the Nation who are permanently housed or transitioning to permanent housing will have access to crucial services under the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program.

SSVF funding supports outreach, case management, and other flexible assistance to rapidly re-house Veterans who become homeless, or to prevent Veterans from becoming homeless.   A list of grantees is located at: www.va.gov/homeless/ssvf.asp
