Identity Theft Prevention

Pause1 Play1

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) reports that Veterans are especially vulnerable to fraud and identity theft. According to the FTC, nearly 50,000 Veterans reported identity theft in 2021.

In today’s digital world, you are more likely to have your identity stolen than your car. In addition to your personal accounts, you also need to protect your personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI).

This website provides the information you need to understand, spot, and prevent identity theft. If you or someone in your family believes their identity has been stolen, call the toll-free VA Veteran Identity Theft Helpline.
