VA's Anti-Harassment and Anti-Sexual Assault Policy

VA is committed to a culture where everyone is treated with civility, compassion, and respect. Everyone should feel welcome and safe when doing business with VA.

It’s not a compliment. It is harassment.

VA will not tolerate harassment or assault of any kind. Harassment is any unwelcome conduct that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment.

At VA, we take all reported claims seriously and will investigate and take appropriate actions.

Sexual Harassment

Sexual harassment is unsolicited verbal or physical contact of a sexual nature which is threatening in character.

  • Leering/Ogling
  • Intentional body exposure
  • “HEY BABY”
  • Flirting/pressure for sex
  • Emails, texts, graphics

Sexual Assault

Sexual assault is any type of unwelcome touch that is without the explicit consent of the recipient of the unwanted sexual activity.

  • Grabbing, hugging
  • Patting
  • Stroking
  • Pinching
  • Brushing/rubbing against

  • Your Primary Care Provider or Women Veterans’ Program Manager
