Who are we?
We develop statistical analyses and reports on a broad range of topics, operate VA’s data and statistics Web portal to disseminate Veteran data and statistics, and develop estimates and projections on Veteran populations.
Additionally, we lead interagency data-sharing collaborations with other Federal agencies, and conduct survey analyses and research including future iterations of the National Survey of Veterans.
We also lead the effort to implement corporate data governance and corporate data management in VA, and implement enterprise business intelligence tools and processes to support analysis and planning activities in VA.
To serve as the authoritative clearinghouse for VA to collect, validate, analyze, and disseminate key statistics on Veteran population and VA programs to support planning, analysis, and decision-making activities.
VA released AIAN Veterans by State 2015 This report shows demographic and socio-economic percentages of distribution of AIAN Veterans by gender, age, state, period of service, education, personal income and other important characteristics. August 31, 2017
VA released Veterans Religious Affiliation by State This dataset provides a count of Veterans by their religious affiliation and state residence. The dataset covers all 50 states, District of Columbia and other territories. August 18, 2017

VA released Profile of Veterans: Male Education Deep Dive This profile uses data from the 2015 American Community Survey Public Use Microdata Sample to report data concerning the demographics, socioeconomic status, and health characteristics for male Veterans vs. male non-Veterans by high school graduation status. VA released Profile of Post-911 Veterans: 2015 This profile uses data from the 2015 American Community Survey Public Use Microdata Sample to report data concerning the demographics, socioeconomic status, and health characteristics for Post-911 Veterans by Veteran status. June 15, 2017
VA released Profile of Veterans: 2015 This profile shows the demographics and socioeconomic characteristics of Veterans by gender, race and ethnicity. It compares men to women Veterans; men and women Veterans to men and women non-Veterans; and minority Veterans to minority non-Veterans. This report uses data from the 2015 American Community Survey Public Use Microdata Sample. April 13, 2017
VA released Mortality Rates and Life Expectancy of Veterans from 1980 to 2014 This report generates estimates of mortality rates and life expectancy for Veterans for ages 20 to 85, in the 10 to 15 year periods population. The report also estimates the education and income differentials in life expectancy for Veterans in 2011 to 2014. April 11, 2017
VA released Veteran Households with Children a spreadsheet broken out by state and county for 2015 located on the Quickfacts page under the General Interests category. This spreadsheet is the first time that VA has identified Veteran Households with and without children at the state and county levels. April 4, 2017

VA released Minority Veterans Report located on the Reports page under the Utilization of VA Benefits & Services category. This report is the first comprehensive report that chronicles the history of racial and ethnic minorities in the military and as Veterans, profiles characteristics of minority Veterans in 2014, illustrates how minority Veterans utilized some of the major benefits and services offered by the VA.

VA released Employment of Veterans in the Federal Executive Branch, FY 2015 located on the Quickfacts page under the General Interest category. This quick facts summarizes the Veteran new hires into the Federal government by disabled and by 30 percent and higher disabled groups for 2008 to 2015. It shows the Veteran new hires by agency for 2015 and it also shows the Veterans by occupation for 2015.

VA released Women Veteran Report:2015 located on the Reports page under the Utilization of VA Benefits and Services category. This report summarizes the history of women Veterans in the military and as Veterans. It profiles the characteristics of women Veterans in 2015, and illustrates how women Veterans used some of the major benefits and services that are offered by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
