Veteran Amy

What would you recommend?

Amy is a 22-year-old female college student with a history of eczema, which she usually manages through topical steroids at the beginning of a flare. A couple of months after starting classes at the university, Amy had a really bad flare of eczema that has not been easily controlled with her typical regimen. She finds herself distracted in classes which she attributes to the itching and to the lack of good quality sleep. She has been limiting her exercise because sweating stings the inflamed areas, and because she is really tired. She is beginning to wonder if she can pull off getting through college and fulfilling her dream of becoming an engineer and designing safer mobile military bases.

What would you tell Amy and how would you implement a Whole Health approach to care?

Our Skin Health overview provides additional information about Amy and explains how to incorporate, yoga, traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, and other integrative and complementary practices to promote skin health. We also offer Whole Health tools on topics related to skin health below.
