Women's Health Baby Shower

By Sean Tuckey, Health Systems Specialist, Acting Public Affairs Officer
August 20, 2025. Albany, NY. The Stratton VA Women’s Health Team continues to look for ways to recognize the Veterans they serve.
“Over the last five years we have grown the Women’s Health Baby shower from a drive through service that we started during COVID to this wonderful event tonight” commented ADPCS Samantha Gugenberger. At tonight’s baby shower 8 expecting mothers and their guests enjoyed a hot dinner, played games and discussed/shared experiences during the 2-hour event. “The donors really came through with adorable and necessary items for the babies. They also came through with a special gift for each of our expecting mothers. We rely on donations to make this wonderful event occur and appreciate all their unwavering support. We enjoy bringing everyone together to share a meal, the value is immeasurable” noted Women’s Health Program Manager Christine Goodwill.
Program Support Assistant Jamie Harrigan, who has been involved since the 1st baby shower, stated “It’s been great to see the program grow”. Congratulations to our Maternity Care Coordinator RN Courtney O’Keefe, who recently became an ALPP CLC- Certified Lactation Counselor, stated “We can continue to expand our services for female Veterans.”
