LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock VA Clinic’s Whole Health Department hosted their first mobile food pantry on Monday, Dec. 1, 2025, providing fresh food and resources to area Veterans in partnership with the South Plains Food Bank.

The pantry operated in the clinic’s front parking lot where Veterans were able to pick up a variety of food aimed at supporting nutritional needs and overall well-being. Within the hour, 125 boxes were handed out to Veterans.

“This mobile food pantry was created to address food insecurities among Veterans,” said Crystal Doffoney, Whole Health Specialist. “In Whole Health, our mission is to support Veterans’ overall health and improve their quality of life.”

The event marked the beginning of a continuing effort by the Lubbock VA Clinic to expand access to essential resources. Moving forward, the clinic plans to host quarterly mobile food pantries for all Veterans.
