Join Our Mission: Provide a Home for Veterans in Need

The Lt. Charles S. Kettles Ann Arbor VA Medical Center is committed to finding alternatives to long-term care for our Veterans. While in-home support may not be suitable for every Veteran, we have successfully collaborated with caregivers for over ten years, creating care-family environments for Veterans who prefer a home setting.

About Our Program:

  • Current Reach: We currently have five homes within the Ann Arbor VA territory and are ambitiously expanding to fifteen homes.
  • Objective: Help Veterans stay in a comfortable and least restrictive environment – a true home – with compassionate caregivers.

Support for Caregivers:

  • Education and Training: We provide comprehensive education and support to caregivers who wish to open their homes to Veterans.
  • Interdisciplinary Care Team: Caregivers receive primary care support from our experienced interdisciplinary care team, ensuring Veterans receive the best care possible.

To qualify, the home must be the primary residence of the caregiver.
