Join us in the atrium for an important event focused on building awareness about colorectal cancer screening and the resources available to Veterans within the VA. This event, actively planned and coordinated by Primary Care and Mailed FIT Implementation Team, aims to educate Veterans and staff on the critical importance of regular screening, the benefits of early detection, and how to complete and return Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) Kits.

Colorectal cancer is among the most common cancers and a leading cause of cancer death among Veterans. Early detection through regular screening can prevent colorectal cancer or catch it at an early, more treatable stage—dramatically improving survival rates. The VA offers convenient at-home screening with mailed FIT kits, allowing Veterans to complete a simple, effective test in the comfort of their homes and return it by mail, removing common barriers like travel and scheduling. Screening is recommended for all adults within the appropriate age range or earlier for those with risk factors such as family history or certain medical conditions.
