The Western North Carolina Veterans Affairs Health Care System steadfastly continues its mission of uniting veterans across the mountains with the services and resources within their reach.

The Charles George Veteran Affairs (VA) Medical Center hosted its 21st Annual Local Creative Arts Festival as part of a rehabilitative treatment program to aid patients in recovering from physical and emotional challenges.

Veterans deserve 5-Star health care and they can get it at the Western North Carolina VA Health Care System according to recent independent reviews.

A local Veteran presented the Charles George VA Medical Center with a heartfelt “thank you” recently for its role in helping him achieve his goals.

The Western North Carolina VA Health Care System has officially achieved and surpassed its portion of the VISN-6 Permanent Housing Placements 38,000 goal.

Dr. Jacobs completed her Bachelor’s in Psychology in 2011 at St. John’s University in Queens, New York and subsequently enrolled and completed a Master’s in Clinical Psychology.

Dr. Maria “Carmen” E. Espiritu, MD, has been a Staff Physician at the Bill Hefner Salisbury VA, since February 2016.

Charles George VA Medical Center 5 West staff decided to take pole position by using a racing theme to help keep the motivation and morale high during this year’s Pathways to Excellence survey. The survey window is three weeks, and began for the North Carolina medical center this week.

They say a picture’s worth a thousand words, but in this case it brought one employee from the Western North Carolina VA Health Care System national recognition.
