Mr. Al Rosado assumed the duties of Acting Assistant Medical Center Director at the Atlanta VA Medical Center in January 2023.

Mr. Al Rosado oversees Environmental Management Service, Police Service, Emergency Management and Prosthetics Service at the AVAHCS. He also has facility operational liaison responsibility for both the Information Technology and Canteen Vending & Retail Services. Prior to his role as Acting Assistant Medical Center Director, Mr. Rosado served as the Chief, Environmental Management Service. Mr. Rosado joined the VA in November of 1999 at the Atlanta VA Medical Center, as the Assistant Chief for Environmental Management Service (EMS) and was later named Chief, EMS. His other assignments include Site Administrator for the Ft. McPherson Campus and the Atlanta VA Clinic, and Assistant Director. 

Mr. Rosado was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army in 1986 and later retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. During his career in the Army, he served on numerous leadership positions to include Battery Commander, Foreign Exchange Officer, Foreign Area Officer and Operations Officer. He attended the Basic and Advanced Officer Courses, and the US Army Command & General Staff College.   

Mr. Rosado obtained a Bachelors of Arts Degree from the Inter-American University, Puerto Rico in 1986 and a Masters of Business Administration from American Intercontinental University in 2007. Mr. Rosado completed the VA Network Executive Health Care Leadership Institute Program in 2009.     

Mr. Rosado has served as a subject matter expert on numerous occasions for VA Central Office, the Office of Environmental Programs Service, and VISN 7.
