Atlanta VAHCS celebrates Cardiovascular Professionals Week

“Cardiovascular professionals work as a team to deliver exceptional patient care in healing the hearts of our Veterans,” says Dr. Maziar Zafari, Chief of Cardiology at Atlanta VAHCS.
The Atlanta VA Health Care System (AVAHCS) celebrates its cardiovascular professionals during Cardiovascular Professionals Week, February 11 – 17. The week honors cardiovascular practitioners and managers and the contribution these individuals make to healthcare.
The AVAHCS multidisciplinary team is made up of nurses, board-certified cardiovascular specialists and sub-specialists, cardiovascular and medical instrument technicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners. They are specially trained for non-invasive and invasive cardiovascular procedures such as electrocardiography, exercise testing, echocardiography, right and left heart catheterizations, percutaneous coronary angioplasty and stenting, structural heart interventions, pacemakers and ICD implantations, as well as electrophysiology studies and ablations.
