The Atlanta VA Health Care System is joining VA facilities nationwide in celebrating National Prosthetic and Sensory Aids Service Week, honoring the professionals who help Veterans regain independence, mobility, and quality of life through innovative prosthetic and sensory aid solutions.
Throughout the week of Oct 31 – Nov 7, Atlanta VAHCS staff will recognize the PSAS team’s vital role in providing customized care for Veterans who rely on assistive devices such as prosthetic limbs, wheelchairs, orthotics, hearing aids, and adaptive equipment. Their sole purpose is to empower our Veterans with the maximum ability to function, thrive, and live life to the fullest through cutting-edge technology and personalized approaches to rehabilitation.
“Every device we provide represents a Veteran’s journey toward greater independence,” said Jeffrey Jarvis, Atlanta VAHCS Chief of Prosthetics and Sensory Aids. “Our team takes pride in combining technology, compassion, and creativity to meet each Veteran’s unique needs.”
Army Veteran James Jones shared how PSAS services have transformed his life. “Thanks to the prosthetics team, I can walk my daughter down the aisle this spring. They’ve given me more than mobility—they’ve given me moments I thought I’d lost,” Jones said.
