Atlanta VAHCS Celebrates Patient Experience Week

PX Week
By Gregory Kendall, Public Affairs Specialist

“We focus on three goals: improve the overall rating of the health care system; improve overall satisfaction among our Veteran patients, and improve the overall Veteran trust score.”

The Atlanta VA HealthCare System is proud to celebrate Patient Experience (PX)  Week (Apr 29- May 3), an annual, week-long celebration honoring health care staff who impact the patient experience every day.

The PX Week theme is Own Your Moment, and Atlanta VAHCS plans to celebrate by participating in outreach activities to highlight the success of patient experiences and to continue to identify opportunities to provide the absolute best for our Veterans.

Atlanta VAHCS Chief Veterans Experience Officer Angelyn McCrory noted that PX Week provides a focused time to continuously evaluate Veteran feedback to improve the patient experience. McCrory said the primary role of Veteran Experience Office (VEO) is helping Veterans navigate the healthcare system.

“VEO is always looking for ways to enhance the Veteran experience,” McCrory continued. “We focus on three goals: improve the overall rating of the health care system; improve overall satisfaction among our Veteran patients, and improve the overall Veteran trust score.”

According to McCrory, her office consistently reviews and analyzes feedback from Veterans to learn more about areas where the healthcare system can improve.

“Our Veterans are the reason we exist, and it is an honor to serve them every day,” McCrory said.
