On the evening of April 23, 2026, the Atlanta VAHCS earned the prestigious Community Partner of the Year Award at The Warrior Alliance Impact Awards and Gala.

Held at the Coca-Cola Roxy Theatre at the Battery Atlanta, the celebration, serves as the premiere event for Veterans in the region.

This is the first time that Atlanta VAHCS has been selected as a recipient. With Mr. Kai Mentzer, Executive Director, Ms. Lovetta Ford, Executive Deputy Director, Dr. Robert Norvel, Chief of Staff, and Dr. Connie Hampton, ADPCS, in attendance, three of team members received the award on behalf of the healthcare system.

The staff include Gwendolyn Ramos, Atlanta VAHCS CDCE Chief, Tracy Roberts, Atlanta VAHCS Social Work Rehabilitation Counselor, and Samantha Norment, Atlanta VAHCS Mental Health Service Peer Specialist for their service after service.

According to The Warrior Alliance, each nomination was reviewed by an independent selection committee to ensure a confidential process. All recipients were invited to record acceptance statements and videos highlighting their individual motivations and perspectives on supporting Veterans in the community. Additional award categories include First Responder, Healthcare, Company Employee, Public Service, Veteran-Owned Business, Military Spouse, Corporate Veteran Resource Group, Patriot, and Veteran of the Year.

“We are humbled and honored by this recognition. Receiving such a distinction from The Warrior Alliance is a tremendous achievement,  noted Mr. Mentzer. “It further highlights our collective impact to serve those who served with excellence and compassion,” he added.

Congratulations to Team Atlanta for your meaningful and inspiring commitment – beyond the uniform. In addition, the Atlanta VAHCS Executive Leadership Team extends sincere gratitude to The Warrior Alliance leaders and staff for their steadfast commitment as a community partner, and for improving the quality of life for service members, Veterans, and their families.

May we never forget the sacrifices made, the lives touched, and the duty we all share in honoring and supporting our heroes.
