Atlanta VAHCS Observes National Compliance and Ethics Week

By Gregory Kendall, Public Affairs Specialist

The Atlanta VA Health Care System proudly marks National Compliance and Ethics Week, underscoring its ongoing commitment to integrity, transparency, and the highest standards of care for Veterans.

Throughout the week of Nov 2- 8, the Atlanta VAHCS Compliance office will host a series of educational events, staff engagement activities, and information tables designed to raise awareness about the critical role compliance plays in maintaining trust between Veterans, employees, and the community.

“This week is about reinforcing our shared commitment to doing the right thing—even when no one is watching,” said Missy Washington, Atlanta VAHCS Compliance and Business Integrity Officer “Every decision we make should reflect our core values of integrity, transparency, and respect for the Veterans we serve.”

The observance also encouraged open communication by promoting the “Speak Up” initiative—reminding employees that concerns or questions about compliance can be raised confidentially and without fear of retaliation.

National Compliance and Ethics Week serves as a reminder that ethical conduct is at the heart of VA’s mission to serve Veterans with honor and integrity. The Atlanta VA Health Care System extends its gratitude to all staff who uphold these principles and ensure that Veterans continue to receive the highest quality of care in a culture built on trust.
