Golf Carts Atlanta and Flamingo Custom Carts Donate New Golf Cart to Help Veterans

By Gregory Kendall, Public Affairs Specialist

A generous donation from a community partner made navigating the expansive campus of the Atlanta VA Health Care System easier.

Golf Carts Atlanta and Flamingo Custom Carts donated a new golf cart to the facility on May 19. The golf cart will be driven by hospital volunteers and provide a free shuttle to Veterans coming into and leaving the facility.

“Golf Carts Atlanta and Flamingo Custom Carts have been great partners and supporters of our Veterans, and we thank them for their continued generosity,” said Gwen Ramos, Atlanta VAHCS Center for Development and Civic Engagement (CDCE) chief. Ramos added that the golf cart will be used to help transport Veterans who may have difficulty walking to and from the parking areas of our medical center.

Representatives from Golf Carts Atlanta and Flamingo Custom Carts, Kenneth Jones and Paul Heaton, said they were very pleased and proud to donate the new golf cart to the Atlanta VA.  “I can think of no better use for a golf cart than in helping our Veterans get into the Atlanta VA to receive the care they have earned,” said Jones, a Marine Corps Veteran. “It’s service to those who served.”
