Here's new information on the Atlanta VAHCS

  • Two Atlanta Veterans will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the United States Air Force on September 18, 2025, by displaying the Air Force flag at their homes, reflecting on their service, sacrifice, and the innovation that has defined their branch since its founding in 1947.

  • Each year on September 11, Atlanta’s Veteran community joins other communities across the nation to pause and honor the lives lost during the terrorist attacks of 2001 and to reaffirm a commitment to service that defines both military and civilian life.

  • In a groundbreaking achievement, the Atlanta VA Health Care System’s Gero/Neuro/Health Mental Health team has become the first all-mental health outpatient team in the nation to be officially designated as Age-Friendly by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI).

  • This program is used to reduce hospital stays, hospital admissions, ER visits, as well as clinic visits.
