VA Reaching out to Women Veterans on the go at Airports in Southwest Florida
PRESS RELEASE
November 6, 2024
Bay Pines , FL — To reach more women Veterans, their families, and caregivers, the VA has launched a digital ad campaign in major airports across the southeastern U.S., including the Tampa International Airport and the Southwest Florida International Airport.
The campaigns will run through Nov. 30, 2024, and Dec. 31, 2024, respectively.
Using QR code technology, Veterans and their loved ones can learn more about VA health care services, enrollment processes, and resources specifically designed for women Veterans, which directly connects them to the care and support they need, regardless of where they are on their journey.
“Bay Pines VA remains committed to transforming the entire health care experience to be more inclusive, responsive, and specific to the health care concerns and preferences of the women Veterans of today and tomorrow,” said Bay Pines VA Healthcare System Interim Director Kristine Brown. “Throughout our catchment area, we are proud to provide high-quality care to more than 10,000 women Veterans annually at one of our nine sites of care in southwest Florida.”
Now more than ever, women Veterans are choosing VA for their health care needs. This patient population shift is reshaping how the VA provides vital care and services to the women who wore the nation’s uniform. Women Veterans are diverse and span different ages, racial backgrounds, ethnicities, gender identities, and sexual orientations.
At VA, women’s health care teams treat Veterans as individuals and support their well-being throughout every stage of life. Services include comprehensive primary care, mental health, cancer screenings, general health screenings, immunizations, lung health, military exposures, reproductive health and pregnancy, and other care specialties.
