Douglas Schulte M.D.,MBA, CPE

Dr. Douglas Schulte was born and raised in Bellevue, Kentucky.  He received his undergraduate education at the University of Kentucky and attended medical school at the University of Virginia School of Medicine.  Following his internship at Naval Hospital San Diego and a deployment overseas in support of US Navy operations abroad, Dr Schulte completed his Family Medicine residency at Naval Hospital Pensacola.

Dr. Schulte has spent the majority of his professional career serving active-duty members, veterans, and their families in the Military Healthcare System and VHA.  While at Naval Health Clinic Quantico, he became the only civilian Chief of Staff in Navy Medicine.  He subsequently served as the sole executive in charge of all clinical, operational, and financial management for a private employed medical group that quadrupled in size during his leadership.  Following this role, he served as the Chief Medical Officer for Tufts Community Care and System Vice President for Ambulatory Strategy and Operations for Tufts Medicine, where he managed community clinical care and evaluated and operationalized growth opportunities for Tufts Medicine.

Dr. Schulte is a Board-Certified Family Physician.  He has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts and is an American Association of Physician Leadership Certified Physician Executive.
