Jonathan K Lee, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at UMass Chan Medical School.

He completed his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Suffolk University and his predoctoral internship at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. Dr. Lee subsequently completed a two-year postdoctoral research fellowship at the Family Institute at Northwestern University focused on anxiety disorders research.

Dr. Lee is currently a staff psychologist and Clinical Program Manager for the VA Tobacco Treatment Program at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial VA Hospital in Bedford, MA. In this role, he provides clinical services and oversees program development, administration, and outreach efforts. He has spearheaded numerous quality improvement initiatives to expand access to comprehensive tobacco cessation treatment.

In addition, Dr. Lee serves as the Clinical Champion for High Reliability and Change Management Lead for the medical center. In these roles, he guides organizational change initiatives to implement high reliability principles and facilitate adoption of new policies and programs. This has included leading networks of change agents to drive forward psychological safety, just culture, and successful rollout of major VHA directives.

Dr. Lee actively contributes to continuing medical education through podcast series, webinars, and in-person trainings. He has developed and presented virtual education events on tobacco cessation for VA providers across New England. Dr. Lee also served as a subject matter expert and voice actor for national VA podcasts on tobacco cessation and employee wellness.

Dr. Lee's scholarly interests center on dissemination and implementation of evidence-based treatments, with an emphasis on tobacco cessation and treatment of anxiety disorders. He has published in peer-reviewed journals on mechanisms of mindfulness-based interventions and has contributed book chapters on cultural considerations in acceptance-based therapies.

Dr. Lee is actively involved in clinical training as a member of the VA Bedford Psychology Training Committee and Director of the Addictions Training Program. He has presented nationally on clinical topics related to anxiety disorders and mechanisms of behavior change. Dr. Lee also serves as a consultant on virtual training initiatives for tobacco cessation though the national VA system.
