Dr. Marcus Ruopp graduated from the University of Massachusetts Medical School and completed his internal medicine residency at Duke University Medical Center.
He completed a Rabkin Fellowship in Medical Education at the Shapiro Institute for Education and Research at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Prior to assuming the role as the acting Chief of Staff at the Bedford Healthcare System, he served as the Associate Chief of Geriatrics and Extended Care and the Medical Director for a Skilled Nursing Facility (Community Living Center) in the VA Boston Healthcare System. His research interests focus on improving post-acute care for older adults, as well as medical education. He has directed the implementation of a High Reliability Organization, the Age Friendly Healthcare System of Care, and innovative transitional care models.
