Marcus Ruopp M.D.

He graduated from the University of Massachusetts Medical School and completed his internal medicine residency at Duke University Medical Center. He completed a Rabkin Fellowship in Medical Education at the Shapiro Institute for Education and Research at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. 

Dr. Ruopp served as the Associate Chief of Geriatrics and Extended Care in the VA Boston Healthcare System prior to his arrival as the Acting Chief of Staff of the VA Bedford Healthcare System in November, 2024 . His research interests focus on improving post-acute care for older adults, as well as medical education. He has directed the implementation of a High Reliability Organization, the Age Friendly Healthcare System of Care, and innovative transitional care models. He looks forward to becoming part of Bedford’s critical mission in his role as the Chief of Staff.
