BEDFORD, Mass. —Veterans at VA Bedford will benefit from a generous donation of $2,200 in Patriot Bucks from the BPOE Lexington-Waltham Lodge #2204, thanks to a Freedom Grant from the Elks National Veterans Service Commission and additional Lodge contributions.

The Patriot Bucks, redeemable at the Canteen, Barbershop, and Patriot’s Store, were thoughtfully packaged into $10 increments to be used for VA Bedford’s DOM Easter Egg Hunt, an annual event that provides fun and meaningful gifts to Veterans. The CDCE team will supplement the event with sports memorabilia, headphones, gift cards, and other essentials to make Easter extra special.

The donation was coordinated by Colleen Gavin, CDCE Specialist, with the assistance of Lisa Fitzgerald, ENF Grants Coordinator, and presented by Exalted Ruler Billy MacDonald, Past Exalted Rulers Betsy Reynolds and Jose Reyes, on February 28, 2024.

In a heartfelt message, the Elks Lodge expressed gratitude for the dedicated care provided to Veterans at VA Bedford and their appreciation for being part of this important effort.

VA Bedford thanks BPOE Lexington-Waltham Lodge #2204 for their dedication, generosity, and commitment to serving Veterans. Their support makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those who served our country.
