BEDFORD, Massachusetts—VA Bedford Healthcare System is holding a virtual town hall meeting for women Veterans at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 17.

Any woman Veteran may attend the virtual event via telephone by dialing toll-free 14043971596 and entering access code 2760 494 4867. Participants may also join the discussion via video at https://veteransaffairs.webex.com/veteransaffairs/j.php?MTID=ead6c37d19eaa97ed5c321f10f4496be3 with event password CWeajkC@825. However, neither the video link nor telephone number will be active until just before the town hall meeting begins.

“We want all women Veterans in Middlesex and Essex counties to join us for this important town hall meeting, whether or not they’re enrolled in VA care,” Joan Clifford, healthcare system director said. “The town hall provides an opportunity for this unique population to come together and learn more about services available at VA Bedford HCS and which ones are specific to the needs of women Veterans.”

VA Bedford’s women hospital leaders and staff representatives will be on hand to answer questions and hear input directly from women Veterans.

Clifford explained the healthcare system has a women Veterans program manager, women’s health medical director, women’s health nurse navigator, designated gynecologist, and maternity care coordinators.

She said approximately 2,000 women Veterans received care at VA Bedford HCS in fiscal year 2021, but there are more than 7,000 women Veterans within its catchment area.

“If you served in the U.S. military and you are interested in VA health care services for women, I hope you join us,” Clifford said.
