This past weekend, June 7, 2025, the VA Bedford Police Department proudly joined over 350 police cruisers and law enforcement agencies from across the Commonwealth for the 18th Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) Cruiser Convoy, the largest single-day event on the LETR calendar.

The convoy, which stretched from the Berkshires to Boston, culminated at Harvard University’s Athletic Complex to kick off the 2025 Special Olympics Massachusetts Summer Games.

Our VA Bedford team had a standout moment—raising $1,700, the highest amount of donations among all participating teams. In total, the event raised over $10,000 for the weekend, contributing to an impressive $1 million raised this year for Special Olympics Massachusetts.

The energy and spirit of the day were unmatched. Officers had the opportunity to spend time with the athletes and their families before a rainstorm rolled in, sharing laughs, encouragement, and heartfelt moments. One of the biggest stars of the day was K9 Kane, who received plenty of love and attention from athletes in between their competitions.

The Cruiser Convoy is more than just a show of support—it's a celebration of inclusion, community, and the extraordinary accomplishments of over 3,000 Special Olympics athletes. We were honored to take part and to stand alongside departments from Pittsfield to Provincetown in championing this cause.

We’re already looking forward to next year and hope to bring an even bigger VA Bedford team to continue this tradition of support, service, and unity.
