The Birmingham VA Health Care System is bringing advanced medical innovation experience to Huntsville with a live demonstration of robotic-assisted tools for early lung cancer detection and treatment. On Friday, March 7, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Huntsville VA Clinic will host the Intuitive Thoracic Oncology Mobile Experience, a state-of-the-art exhibit showcasing the latest diagnostic and surgical technologies available to Veterans.
This free event, open to Veterans, health care professionals, and the public, features a 1,000-square-foot interactive display housed in a tractor-trailer. Provided by Intuitive, the parent company of the Ion and Da Vinci robotic platforms, the exhibit offers hands-on insight into tools like the Ion Robotic Bronchoscope, Cone Beam CT, and Da Vinci Surgical System. Birmingham VA Pulmonary Specialists and Thoracic Surgeons use these tools to detect and treat lung nodules with precision and efficiency, improving outcomes through early intervention.
