On Monday, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for the grand reopening of the Transitional Residence House (TR House) following an extensive renovation.

This event marked the culmination of a 12-month renovation project aimed at enhancing the structural integrity and overall functionality of the TR House, which has served as a vital resource for Veterans transitioning from homelessness to permanent housing.

Originally built in the 1930s, the TR House is a 3,000-square-foot facility that provides temporary housing and support services for Veterans participating in the Compensated Work Therapy (CWT) Program. The house consists of six bedrooms and four bathrooms, accommodating up to 12 Veterans, including both males and females. With this renovation, the TR House continues its mission of offering a safe, stable environment for Veterans facing housing instability.

The renovation project included significant improvements to both the interior and exterior of the building. Notable upgrades include a new roof, gutters, vinyl siding, and refinished walls with fresh paint throughout. Inside, new flooring, lighting, ceiling fans, bathroom fixtures, kitchen cabinets, and appliances have been installed. Exterior work also involved replacing the brick fascia on the front porch, addressing water intrusion issues, and enhancing the structural stability of the porch, basement, and deck stairs.

The TR House is more than just a place to stay—it's a lifeline for Veterans who are working to rebuild their lives. These renovations ensure that the TR House remains a safe and welcoming space where Veterans can focus on their recovery and transition to permanent housing.
