On May 19, the Birmingham VA Health Care System proudly recognized the dedicated volunteers who serve Veterans across our health care system during our annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon.
From first-time volunteers to those surpassing 4,000 hours of service, each individual represents compassion, kindness, and commitment to those who served our nation.
Collectively, our 109 active volunteers have contributed nearly 70,000 hours of service—making a difference in the lives of Veterans every single day. Whether offering a warm smile, helping Veterans navigate appointments, providing transportation, or simply being present during difficult moments, our volunteers embody the very best of VA.
Thank you for being the heroes of our heroes. And yes… the barbecue and banana pudding were a big hit too!
