David Wood was appointed Director of the Boise VA Medical Center in May of 2012.
Prior to this assignment Mr. Wood had been Director of the Oklahoma City VAMC since August of 2006. Mr. Wood has been employed with the Department of Veterans Affairs since 1991. He received a Masters of Health Administration degree from Duke University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource Management from Brigham Young University. Mr. Wood was the Medical Center Director of the Butler Pennsylvania VAMC from September 2004 to August 2006. Prior to Butler, he was the Medical Center Director for four years at the VAMC located in Bath, New York. In addition, he has served as the Chief Network Information Officer in VA Healthcare Network Upstate New York and as the Public Affairs/Planner in El Paso, TX. In March of 2005, he was the recipient of the Outstanding Young Alumni Award from BYU Idaho. Mr. Wood has also been on several details to Central Office including ones related to the recent Information Technology reorganization and the Department of Veterans Affairs Capital Asset Realignment for Enhanced Services program. Mr. Wood has achieved the status of a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
