February Heart Health Events for Women Veterans

Butler , PA — The Butler VA Health Care System is hosting two free events for Women Veterans in February as part of American Heart Month.

What: The Butler VA Health Care System is hosting two free events for Women Veterans in February as part of American Heart Month.

  1. A “Go Red” event at Steele’s Brushes and Ceramics will include a ceramic heart craft along with a presentation on heart health specific to women Veterans. Women Veterans should RSVP to 878-271-6484.
  2. A “Heart Health Prevention” event at the main Butler VA facility will include a healthy heart presentation by the Butler VA’s Chief of Staff, Dr. Aref Rahman followed by a Healthy Teaching Kitchen demonstration. Women Veterans should RSVP to 878-271-6989.

Who: All Women Veterans are invited to attend.

When: Go Red Event: Friday, February 3, 6pm – 9pm

Heart Health Prevention Event: Tuesday, February 7, 11am – 1pm

Where: Go Red Event: Steele’s Brushes and Ceramics, 1631 N Main Street, Butler, PA

Heart Health Prevention Event: Butler VA (Auditorium), 353 N Duffy Road, Butler, PA

Background: Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year, but the simple truth is that most cardiovascular disease can still be prevented with education and healthy lifestyle changes.
