Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System or CAVHCS held a private tour of the new Robert S. Poydasheff VA Clinic for the Poydasheff family, U.S. Representatives Sanford Bishop and Drew Ferguson.

The new clinic is located at 6910 River Road, Columbus, Georgia. This 55,000 square foot clinic will replace the Community Based Outpatient Clinic located on 13th Street. The Fort Benning CBOC and Columbus Downtown VA Clinic will continue to operate as the new Poydasheff clinic opens in July.

This clinic will serve approximately 25,000 enrolled Veterans in the Chattahoochee Valley.

“We were blown away by how beautiful and functional it is. Our Veterans deserve something like this, and they will get so much of a benefit with the clinic,” said Rob Poydasheff,” son of the late Col. Robert S. Poydasheff.

“My father was passionate about serving Veterans and did so much out of the goodness of his heart. I don’t think he could have asked for a nicer legacy because this clinic showcases his commitment to our Veterans,” Rob Poydasheff said.

Services this clinic will provide are Social Work Service, Clinical Pharmacy, Whole Health Coach, Primary Care, Center for Development and Civic Engagement (Volunteer Services), Women’s Health, Mental Health, Audiology, Dental, Optometry, Physical and Occupational Therapy and more.

The Robert S. Poydasheff VA Clinic was awarded to developers in January 2020. The site preparations began in June 2020, with the first use expected on July 11, 2022.
