Marie Robinson-McLaughlin, RN, BSN, MSN was appointed Associate Director of Patient Care Services in May 2014.
Prior she served as Acting Chief of Mental Health and Behavioral Services, Acting Associate Director of Patient Care Services, Chief Nurse of Community Living Center, Blind Rehabilitation, Inpatient Mental Health and Home and Community Based Programs at West Palm Beach VAMC. She was nationally recognized for achieving a perfect Joint Commission Survey for Home and Community Based Programs, implementing group Home Telehealth Clinic Appointments utilizing Clinical Video Telehealth. This new process helped WPB VA achieve over 300 enrolled Veterans for FY13. Ranking number one for VISN 8. Robinson-McLaughlin is a graduate of University of North Carolina - Greensboro with two Masters of Science in Nursing (Gerontology & Administration) her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Winston Salem State University. Her career began as a Clinical Nurse at Duke University Medical Center. She began her VA career in 1984 at Salisbury VAMC as an Intensive Care Nurse and later transferred to Durham VAMC as a Baylor Nurse. In 1992 she relocated to Panama and worked at Gorgas Army Hospital as an Emergency Room Nurse and returned to work at Wilmington Delaware VAMC as the Clinic Manager, and as Nurse Manager at Coatesville VAMC. In 1999 joined the staff at John Hopkins Bayview Geriatric Center as Nursing Supervisor and Nurse Manager. In 2005-12 served at Fayetteville VAMC as a Clinical Nurse; Nurse Manager; Women Veteran Program Manager; and Associate Chief Nurse. She was commissioned as an Officer in 1986 in the US Army Nurse Corps; and deployed in support of Operation Desert Storm in 1991. Since 2004, she has served as a US Air Force Flight Nurse serving in Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraq Freedom and Operation New Dawn. Ms. Robinson-McLaughlin is presently assigned to the 315th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron as a Lieutenant Colonel.
