Carol Ann Schmidt, DNAP, CRNA, is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist with the Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System in Charleston, South Carolina.
She provides anesthesia care to Veterans across a variety of surgical and procedural settings.
In this role, she provides comprehensive anesthesia care while prioritizing patient safety, comfort, and clinical excellence. Dr. Schmidt is proud to care for Veterans and approaches each patient with empathy, compassion, and respect.
Dr. Schmidt earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2023. Prior to her work in anesthesia, she trained for 10 years in pediatric intensive care, working as a transport and bedside nurse.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and learning new things.
