Dzmitry Haviazheu MD

He joined the VA in 2023 and is committed to helping Veterans, clinicians, and care teams identify the source of pain and disease through advanced medical imaging. 

Dr. Haviazheu has clinical interests in diseases of the liver, kidneys, prostate, and gastrointestinal tract, as well as cardiac imaging. After completing a Body MRI Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University in 2022, he helped bring several advanced imaging techniques to the VA — including MRI Elastography, which can reduce the need for invasive procedures and biopsies. He also serves as the MRI Safety Officer, participates in multidisciplinary tumor boards, and enjoys teaching resident physicians. 

Originally from Belarus, Dr. Haviazheu immigrated to the United States in 2009 after receiving a Green Card through the Diversity Visa Program. He is deeply grateful for the opportunities this country has provided and is honored to serve Veterans through his work at the VA. 

Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, cold-plunge and wellness activities, and baking sourdough bread.
