Melanie T Hatzis

Dr. Hatzis completed a residency program in Adult Psychiatry and a fellowship program in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.  Before transitioning to the VA, she ran a solo private practice in Charleston for 9 years where she offered medication management and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  She has also worked for Charleston and Berkeley County Mental Health Centers caring for the underprivileged population and the chronically mentally ill.  She trained at the Crime Victims Center and is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She was a volunteer Clinical Assistant Professor at MUSC for 15 years and received Circle of Excellence awards and a Golden Apple award. Dr. Hatzis has worked for the VA for 10 years and enjoys using her background in treating trauma to help our Veterans.
