By Chris Klug, Public Affairs Specialist
Some Whole Health and well-being services will now have a $15 copayment. This applies to Veterans already responsible for outpatient copayments.
Who Is Affected?
Veterans in Priority Groups 6, 7, and 8 who pay other outpatient copays. Not affected:
• Veterans with a service-connected disability rating of 50% or more
• Veterans receiving care for a service-connected condition
• Other Veterans who already qualify for copay exemptions
Which Services Are Included?
- Guided imagery
- Meditation
- Yoga
- Tai chi/qigong
- Health coaching
- Wellness Groups
What’s Not Changing?
• Whole Health services remain available.
• Exempt Veterans will stay exempt.
• No services are being cut or reduced.
Why Is This Happening?
VA must follow federal law about copayments. This update makes billing consistent and fair across all VA facilities.
