The Healthy Teaching Kitchen (HTK) online program provides live, virtual cooking classes for Veterans to increase nutrition knowledge, cooking skills, and build confidence in cooking at home.

VA enrolled Veterans can attend this virtual 6-week series focused on ‘One Pot Meals’ every Tuesday at 2 p.m. using VA Video Connect from January 21 through February 25.   

Registered attendees will receive an email from VA Video Connect Appointment with a link in advance. If you’re accessing the appointment from an iPhone or iPad device, you will need to download the VA Video Connect App before clicking the link.

 

SCHEDULE
January 21 - Recipe: Slow Cooker Chicken Fajitas. Also, learn food safety, knife skills and safety  
January 28 - Recipe: Chickpea Shakshuka Basic. Also, learn cooking terms and tools, setting up your kitchen 
February 04 - Recipe: Cheesy Beef and Pasta Skillet. Also, learn to make quick low effort meals and cooking for one or two 
people. 
February 11 - Recipe: Banana-Oatmeal Protein Pancakes. Also, learn focus on your plate and choosing healthy portions. 
February 18 - Recipe: Pork and Rice Skillet. Also, learn adding flavor with herbs and spices, recipe modification and substitutions. 
February 25 - Recipe: Sheet Pan Mini Meatloaves with Vegetables. Also, learn practicing mindful cooking and eating.
