Our Research Programs

In fiscal year 2020, VA Connecticut received $37.3 million for more than 130 investigators to work on more than 600 projects. We host the Cooperative Studies Coordinating Center and the Clinical Epidemiology Research Center. A dedicated Research Pharmacy supports studies requiring pharmaceuticals. VA Connecticut is accredited by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care.

Research projects are conducted in all VA sponsored programs:

  • Clinical Trials
  • Clinical Science
  • Health Services
  • Rehabilitation
  • Biomedical Laboratory including animal studies

Volunteer for a research study

VA researchers wouldn't be able to make the advancements they do without help from the volunteers who take part in studies. If you'd like to contribute to VA's medical advancements, consider participating in research.

If you decide to volunteer for a research study, you can change your mind at any time. Your decision to participate (or not) will not affect your VA benefits.
