Beckley VA Medical Center
Beckley VA Medical Center is a Joint Commission accredited, complexity level II facility serving Veterans in 11 counties in southern West Virginia. The medical center opened its doors to Veterans on March 1, 1951, and today is a 25-bed general medical/surgical and 5-bed intensive care facility with a 50-bed community living center.
The community living center offers skilled nursing care, post-acute rehabilitation and restorative care, hospice, palliative care, and respite care for eligible Veterans.
Beckley VAMC joined the VA Capitol Health Care Network (VISN 5), effective October 1, 2015.
Outpatient Clinics/Vet Centers:
The Beckley VAMC operates the Princeton VA Clinic in Princeton, WV (Opened 6/9/2015). The clinic currently provides primary care to over 850 Veterans and has the potential to serve 1,200 Veterans.
The Greenbrier County VA Clinic opened at the temporary location, 2584 Davis Stuart Road, Lewisburg, WV, on January 19, 2016. The temporary VA clinic will be utilized until the new replacement Greenbrier County VA Clinic, located at 228 Shamrock Lane, Ronceverte, WV, is completed and activated during the second quarter of FY 2017.
The Beckley VAMC supports two Veterans Outreach Centers – one located in Beckley and the other in Princeton, West Virginia. Each Vet Center provides outreach services, PTSD counseling, and an array of social services to Veterans.
Affiliations include the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (Lewisburg, WV).
