VA Acquisition Academy
The VA Acquisition Academy (VAAA) opened its doors in Fall 2008 in Frederick, Md. This new state-of-the-art bricks-and-mortar training facility was created to respond to the growing acquisition workforce challenge facing the department. Since 2002, the VA’s purchasing budget has grown to more than $15 billion, but the number of people executing those contracts has not changed. The VAAA is dedicated to developing professionals who are the trusted business advisors capable of providing innovative acquisition solutions that serve the Veteran. VAAA training rooms are equipped with the latest technology including laptop plugs, internet access, smart boards, and video teleconferencing capability. The modern equipment, ergonomical furniture, brightly colored walls, open office space, and natural lighting create an ideal working, training, and learning environment.
